Rocklands Ebook

The Rocklands ebook for the iPad is ready on blurb. We visited South Africa in the summer of 2013 and put these photos together that show the climbing, landscape, and animals of the Cederberg. I hope these images inspire you to travel to the magical place.  Its definitely a place worth saving up to see.

D800 and easy ISO Control

Just upgrade the camera system to a used Nikon D800 and one thing that took me a while to figure out was how to control the ISO in manual mode without using the dedicated ISO button on the left side of the camera.  I thought I should share about this since all the googleing in the world didn't return this method.  The dedicated button on the top left of the camera was kind of hard to find when you want to change the ISO fast but after looking through the menus I found you can actually assign the red video 'record' button near the shutter release to control ISO setting with the wheel while not in live view. Hopefully this bit of info helps someone else in the world especially if the D810 is the same way.

Wrapping up the Summer

Check out some more photos from this summer.  It was super busy and didn't get to shoot as much as I'd like.  Lots of places in the Rookies that I still want to get out to.  Check out more photos or purchase prints at my smugmug site sammydavisphotography.

Ana on her first hike back to lower chaos about 6 weeks after here concussion.  Turned out that those things can effect you way longer than we thought.  After it happened we found out that a lot of people we know have had to deal with the long term effects of them and that it can take a long time to recover fully.
